I know I shouldn’t be excited about a Transformers film because of a good trailer. The franchise has had great marketing in the past, carefully concealing the bloated melodrama, offensive caricatures, and trivial humour. And yet I’m kind of, sort of, maybe a little bit attracted by Transformers: The Last Knight. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth.
I’m not going to pretend that I’m not going to go see the movie. Transformers is such a nostalgic part of my childhood I can’t hardly help myself. However the movies all in general seem to be high on special effects and very low on story. We always get to know the human players way better than any of the actual Transformers.
I have a feeling to believe that Quintessa, even though is mysterious that revolves around the creation of both Autobots and Decepticons, is portrayed as the main antagonist of the film if she is the ultimate evil herself. I say that because she is the one who sent Lockdown to capture Optimus for the destruction of Cybertron and deep relationship with humanity that hinders her orders. Also, I could possibly think she is responsible for the betrayal of Sentinel Prime and the Fallen as well. I do not know what Quintessa’s origins are, but I feel that she can be almost tied to Unicron because she and the chaos bringer have common similarities and differences of bargaining with the Devil and conquest for power and hunger.
