Growing your skills through events

When you hear the word event, what comes to your mind? I can imagine you thought about loud music, drinks, food and a general party atmosphere. Well not always. Learning is one of the things that people take for granted when it comes to events. As much as we here about all the other big events like Safaricom Sevens, Blankets and Wine and the like, corporate events are highly downplayed. Unless you are inside the community that organizes them, it is very difficult to even know that there are happening almost every week.

Corporate events are thought to be extremely boring by most people especially young people but they end up being the most important depending on which career aspirations you have. By this I’m talking about seminars, forums, conferences which touch on specific topics. Most of the time, the speakers talk about things that are not taught in schools and have real life applications. This varies from careers like marketing, to technology, to photography which all have their own way of doing things.

Eventually if you want to grow in your career or to update your skills, attending corporate events is a sure way of doing this in addition to going back for further studies. What you should do is to find out which events have been happening in the past and follow their social media pages so that you do not miss out next time.

You could also subscribe to our WhatsApp service by sending us a message to the number 0739 651 056 saying ‘Hi’ and we will be sending you all the corporate events you need for free.

The only short fall is that corporate events can sometimes be expensive to attend but the gains are always more than how much you invested into it. Most of the time though, they are affordable enough.

So start investing in your skills and learning because after all is said and done, skills are the only thing that we remain with as a part of us.
